THE CAR / BMW F31 335D xDRIVE

FAST IS GOOD.
RELIABLE IS BETTER.

Our F31 is on its way to becoming a carefully developed Tracktool+. Power, balance and durability – while keeping the freedom to drive to the circuit and back ourselves.

02 / THE ROADMAP

Build the foundation. Then chase the seconds.

Not just a list of dream parts: first, we want a sound mechanical basis. Then we can focus on performance and balance. The exact order may change as we learn more about the car.

01

Engine rebuild

Completely rebuild the engine as a foundation for many more miles and laps.

02

Gearbox & drivetrain

Inspect the gearbox, assess its condition and plan any necessary work.

03

Temperature management

Improve charge-air cooling and assess whether extra oil cooling is needed.

04

Suspension & setup

Choose the right suspension, then professionally tune damping, ride height and alignment.

05

18-inch wheels & tyres

Move to 18-inch wheels and suitable tyres, possibly semi-slicks.

06

Weight reduction

Remove what is unnecessary while keeping the spirit of a road-going Touring.

THE IDEA BEHIND IT

Not for one fast lap. For many good ones.

We want to document progress and improve the complete package instead of chasing numbers alone. The Nordschleife is our proving ground; every drive teaches us something.

HOW WE GOT HERE

From Abarth to Focus RS to Touring.

Before the BMW came a modified Abarth with about 240 hp and a weight just under 1,000 kg, followed by a tuned Focus RS Mk3 with around 400 hp. Today, the challenge is turning an inline-six diesel into a capable Tracktool+.
